Dear ITMA Members

Mark your calendar and join us on Friday, 23 September 2011 for a visit to Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) Centre. This visit will give you an insight on how URA harness the power of technology to make Singapore one of the most livable cities in Asia.

URA Information Technology
The Urban Redevelopment Authority is Singapore’s national land use planning agency, with the mission to make Singapore a great city to live, work and play in. URA prepares long term strategic plans, as well as detailed local area plans, for physical development, and then co-ordinates and guides efforts to bring these plans to reality.

To realize the strategic plans, URA proactively exploit information technology to increase productivity and provide better customer service. URA has also developed enterprise and innovative GIS and 3D systems. For example, the Integrated Planning and Land Use System (IPLAN) uses state-of-the-art Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to integrate all land use information for easy retrieval in processing development applications. URA also implemented islandwide digital 3D Urban Model System to facilitate planning and urban design works.
Come join us to learn about URA’s GIS and 3D systems, followed by an enriching tour of the Singapore City Gallery which was recently revamped. With 10 thematic areas and more than 50 audiovisual and interactive exhibits spanning three floors over 2,400 square metres, the Singapore City Gallery offers an exciting, multi-sensory learning experience into Singapore’s planning journey.

Limited seats available, make your reservation now. You can send an email with your Name, IC/Passport No, Position, Company and Contact Number to Ms Betty Chew at bchew@ncs.com.sg before Wednesday, 21 September 2011.
