In 2018, the Personal Data Protection Commission Singapore looked into almost 30 complaints of potential data breaches and issued enforcement decision in the majority of the cases. In May of the same year, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also came into force, putting in place accountability and penalties on organisations around the globe which process data of EU residents.

In the face of more sophisticated cyber attacks, organisations are beefing up cyber secruity defences and response. However, are these sufficient to be in compliance with regulations in the unlikely event of a breach?
