The 4th Industrial Revolution In Action. Berlin and Vienna.

The 4th Industrial Revolution In Action. Berlin and Vienna.

Dear Valued ITMA Member,

Running for the 12th year, the ITMA CIO Study Trip will be headed again to Europe in September 2018. We will first visit Berlin, the Germany capital known not only for its art scene but also a centre for startups and technology innovation. We will visit Vienna, the capital of Austria and its largest city, to look at innovative use of IT there.

The Study Trip is an exclusive event for CIOs/IT Heads and Heads of Function. It has been well regarded as a great opportunity to learn and network with industry peers from different industries.

THEME

The theme for the trip this year is "The 4th Industrial Revolution".

Mention "The 4th Industrial Revolution" to most executives and you will raise eyebrows. If they've heard of it, they are likely confused about what it is. If they haven't heard of it, they're likely to be skeptical of what they see as yet another piece of marketing hype, an empty catchphrase. And yet a closer look at what's behind it, reveals some powerful emerging currents with strong potential to change how businesses work, not just in manufacturing but across all industries.

In this 4th industrial revolution, the effect of digitization and artificial intelligence (AI) on the economy will be felt by all. It is already disrupting almost every industry in every country. The breadth and depth of these changes herald the transformation of entire systems of production, management, and governance.

Join us on a trip to look at how others are adapting their strategies for this revolution. Some organisations we are visiting include BASF, Deutsche Bahn AG, Charite, Bosch IoT Campus, Tricentis SW R&D DevOps, Linz AG.

Getting the right data strategy for business success

    Dear ITMA Members,

Business digitalization has proven to be almost essential for business success. At the core of this transformation is the need for data to be managed, processed and analyzed to enable accurate insights – aligning and refining on and offline data to support intelligently informed decision-making and automation across the business. A data strategy is now ever more important to extract the value of data in a business to drive synergy, efficiency and growth.

How to scale a winning AI strategy?

    Dear ITMA Members,

According to McKinsey, by building machine learning into processes, leading organizations are increasing process efficiency by 30% or more while also increasing revenues by 5%-10%.

However, there is a lot of decision making and automation along the way and that can bring risks to the equation. This leads us to the following questions:

    - How do organizations ensure their AI transformation aligns with their strategic goals and delivers meaningful impact for the business?
    - How do organizations set themselves up to get started and then scale the use of AI across the business in a governed way?
    - How do organizations create resilient AI-driven assets to maximize impact?
