SUMMARY:ITMA-TANIUM CONFERENCE
DESCRIPTION:Dear ITMA Members\, \nThe evolution of cyber attacker techniques\, skills and tools has far exceeded the pace of those of the cyber defender. SUMMARY:ICT Tech Sharing Event @ SPTEL
DESCRIPTION:Dear ITMA Members\, \nThe current challenging business climate has driven organisations to look towards digitalisation for business continuity and recovery. However\, this has caused increased stress on organization networks. Businesses are confronted with unpredictable bandwidth demands and increased cyber security risk\, as traditional network models struggle to cope with the increased use of cloud applications and growing adoption of new technologies like machine learning and the Internet of Things. \n\n\n\n“In this exclusive session organised for ITMA members\, we partner SPTel to bring you insights on the latest ICT technology trends\, focusing on Software Defined Networking technology and how it can lead to improved business agility\, security and total cost of ownership with dynamic resource allocation for bandwidth and even cybersecurity. As “Work from Home” has become a reality and buzzword in the current operating regime\, we will look at how improved ways of connecting and collaborating across segregated teams can be achieved by enabling home offices to be seamlessly managed as branch locations for improved security and control. \nMembers will continue the conversation with fellow members over a fun and informative Wine and Cheese pairing Masterclass at the end of the workshop. Christian Long\, our guest sommelier has curated wines for Restaurant JAG and will be sharing his extensive expertise with us and members will be tasting different types of artisanal cheeses and wines curated from some of the best regions in France. \nAttendees who registered for this event will also be invited for another closing event to wrap up the workshop. This closing event will be subjected to updates on prevailing safety measures.”

SUMMARY:ITMA Webinar with Dr Tan Kee Wee: Globalisation After Covid-19
DESCRIPTION:Dear ITMA Members\, \nThis coronavirus has destroyed and created many industries. It has also changed the way we work and play. \n\n\n\nThis online lecture will focus on how globalisation will develop from here. One of the things it has done is to encourage people to use e-payment systems. \nCurrently\, we depend on our credit cards and bank accounts for e-payments. And this in turn depends on our traditional banking systems. But there is a parallel banking system being developed that will soon replace the traditional banking system. \nThis transformation could be very sudden\, just as the appearance of the coronavirus was sudden. Attend this talk and find out how the global economies will be affected when this transformation occurs. \nOur distinguish guest – Dr Tan Kee Wee \nTan Kee Wee runs an economics advisory firm. Prior to that\, Dr Tan spent many years in the investment industry as an economist\, forecasting the financial markets and global economies. \nDr Tan started off his career in 1988 as a journalist with the Business Times. That was after he secured his PhD in Economics from the University of East Anglia in Britain. \nDespite spending most of his career in the business world\, he continues to teach undergraduates economics on a part-time basis.

SUMMARY:Remote Work Security Executive Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Our daily work schedules may have been disrupted in recent times but cybercrimes do not stop. According to FireEye device detections\, coronavirus-themed malicious emails increased during the month of March 2020. Specifically\, FireEye has observed more than four times as many phishing emails in the second half of March than we did in the first half. \n\n\n\nEnsuring data integrity and security as well as operational security during these times of disruption or increased remote work is critical. Remote workers should be advised on how to best secure their workplaces\, remote work security policies\, and access controls should be reviewed and clearly communicated. Special attention should also be paid to the possibility of insider threats. \nSafety is of the utmost importance. Not just for ourselves but for our business organizations too.
