He has more than 21 years of experience in IT and management, of which 17 years were spent in management consultancy and projects spanning across different industries such as manufacturing, airline, air and sea transportation, logistics and utilities. He graduated from Nanyang Technological University with an Honours Degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Production).

Currently, Yoong Hwee oversees the strategic direction and implementation of information technology in the business. In his position, he is responsible for developing key system functions and competencies to help achieve optimum efficiency and effectiveness in supporting the company's business plans, shape it's IT portfolio roadmap and strengthened governance.

In addition to his business role, Yoong Hwee is also involved in giving back to the industry as a member of the SiTF (Singapore infocomm Technology Federation) Think Tank since 2013 which allows him to provide insights to help shape the ICT industry. In her current role, she is enabler and catalyst for the SMEs Go Digital initiative across diverse sectors in Singapore namely logistics, retail, media, security, food services, environmental services, sea transport and expanding to additional sectors.

She is also the Exec Dir/IT Advisor for Marine Nexus and Ship Supplies Direct which are the aspiring maritime Start Ups under the MPA PIER71 Innovation Hub.

Prior to joining the public service, Geraldine was the VP , IT for BW Group, a global maritime company and leading the IT strategy ,operations, and implementation for 150 ships and global site offices. She spent 11 years and prior to that, she has worked in the FMCG industries like Yeo Hiap Seng, Danone, Petra Foods and Allied Domecq Spirits & Wines for over 20 years.

On top of the business role, Geraldine believes in giving back to the industry by serving as a committee member for the leadership track under Tech Talent Assembly (TTAB). In Jan 2019, she was on the jury panel for the PortXL Rotterdam Maritime Startup Challenge.  She also participated as a judge for the  SiTF awards for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017.

Nelson Tan is the Director of InfoComm Infrastructure at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He had headed various functions over the span of his career, such as Infrastructure, End User Technology, Application Offshore Development, Service Management, Security, and driving application adoption of cloud technologies towards IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Science (Computer and Information Sciences), and Master of Business Administration.

At NTU, Nelson is responsible for university wide IT infrastructure, High-Performance Computing facilities and the management of IT teams responsible for Line of Business applications development and support.

Prior to joining NTU, Nelson headed the Core Infrastructure and Operations team in GIC. Nelson was responsible for driving the cloud strategy, providing thought and technical leadership in Cloud to both infrastructure as well as application teams in the development of cloud ready and cloud native systems, and engaging business owners on the cost-benefit of Cloud adoption.

In PSA, Nelson was heading various functions, such as Security, Project and Service Management, Application Offshore Development, Systems, Network, Database, where he was responsible for technology modernization to support massive automated terminal operations, and new port terminals as part of business capacity growth. With the backdrop of tighter cybersecurity protection of Singapore’s Critical Infrastructure, Nelson was also responsible for the IT Security of the firm, where he formalized and championed a 2-year Security Master Plan that significantly improved the cybersecurity detection, prevention and recovery capabilities.

About Nelson Tan

Nelson Tan is the Director of InfoComm Infrastructure at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He had headed various functions over the span of his career, such as Infrastructure, End User Technology, Application Offshore Development, Service Management, Security, and driving application adoption of cloud technologies towards IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Science (Computer and Information Sciences), and Master of Business Administration.

At NTU, Nelson is responsible for university wide IT infrastructure, High-Performance Computing facilities and the management of IT teams responsible for Line of Business applications development and support.

Prior to joining NTU, Nelson headed the Core Infrastructure and Operations team in GIC. Nelson was responsible for driving the cloud strategy, providing thought and technical leadership in Cloud to both infrastructure as well as application teams in the development of cloud ready and cloud native systems, and engaging business owners on the cost-benefit of Cloud adoption.

In PSA, Nelson was heading various functions, such as Security, Project and Service Management, Application Offshore Development, Systems, Network, Database, where he was responsible for technology modernization to support massive automated terminal operations, and new port terminals as part of business capacity growth. With the backdrop of tighter cybersecurity protection of Singapore’s Critical Infrastructure, Nelson was also responsible for the IT Security of the firm, where he formalized and championed a 2-year Security Master Plan that significantly improved the cybersecurity detection, prevention and recovery capabilities.
